About Me
Welcome! I'm Matt.
A Colorado-based web developer with over 20 years of experience designing and building SaaS applications. After college, the journey started with Environmental Engineering while I toured for six years in a rock band.
In 2006, that turned into a web development company focused on non-profit organizations. In 2011, Community Funded, an online fundraising platform for non-profits and higher education, brought me on as the first hire to architect and build the platform. It was a bit of everything: design, dev, sales, customer calls. What mattered most was knowing the product genuinely helped the teams behind the scenes, in addition to the donors on the front end. Integrating systems that varied from client to client was always a fun puzzle. Even better was hearing what customers actually needed and building solutions that fit their workflow, not the other way around.
These days the focus is on making applications that just work: from tools that help machine shops manage their parts and analyze efficiency, to Linkrail (currently in beta), a web analytics platform built to be dead simple to understand. The through-line is the same: taking complicated problems and turning them into solutions that feel easy.
Sharing what I've picked up along the way matters to me. Software gets better when the people building it support each other. The hope is that something here sparks a developer to think holistically and stay curious beyond the immediate task.
